John Hay reopened in 2006. I have not heard if/when John Hay's football program will be resuming.

According to a Big Ten Notebook column by Associated Press reporter Rusty Miller, "A tarblooder is a railroad term, referring to the workers who laid down the heavy ties and cemented them with tar. They were considered hard-working and dedicated men who went far beyond the pale in doing their jobs." See the full article.
